Sorry to start this off again but.
When i start a game of F1 manager and use the 09 patch it loads everything except the players names are still the original Mika Hakkinen, Michael Schumacher etc. The game will play though.
When I put compatabilty mode on so I can delete the game.bin file it loads all the new players names but as soon as I press continue it closes down.
Can anyone help?
Also, this is amazing work guys, I havent played this game for years untill I found it at the back of my cupboard. Looked online to see if there was a newer version and found this.
Keep up the good work. |

Thanks for the reply.
I've uninstalled the game and deleted all other F1 files.
Reinstalled the f1 game from the original disc. Re-downloaded the patch. Copy and pasted all files (Creating Art & Tracks as they don't exist) over existing ones. Added the d3drm.dll file that is missing.
Same thing happens unfortunately. |

I've narrowed it down to the people file.
When i move everything across it doesn't seem to update. So I can play the game but with the old drivers.
When I delete the current one and then copy and place the new one across it loads up with all correct players but as soon as I press continue it closes down.
Please help if you can |

There is no need to delete anything from the original installation, just copy over it. The only thing that needs to be deleted is the file game.bin, the DATA folder, If There is one !!!!!!
1 DATA ON DATA 2 CARS ON CARS 3 ART FOR ART 4 AND THE TRACKS That is new 5 F1OTM.exe on F1OTM.exe 6 game.bin delete the DATA folder, If There is one !!!!!! |

maybe its just no good with windows 7.
i delete the data folder and paste the new one in its place then it won't even load the game (crashes at the red screen with your name and the 2 others that helped create it).
When I paste the data onto the data it creates a data folder inside the original data folder I delete the game.bin file. This is what I did before and still get the same problem.
Sorry to be a pest but I really want to use this patch. |

Beware !!!!!!
No copy the data folder "inside" the original, you have to paste "over" the original.
Or to explain it otherwise, copy the entire contents of the mod's Data folder, inside the data folder of the game!! |

Just tried that and i'm back to the crashing at 1st continue stage now.
Last question.
When I copy and paste the data folder across, do I replace the files or create duplicates? |

You can ask all the questions you want !!!!!!!!!
"There must be duplicated", copied "over" the files of the same name !!!!!
1 - The contents of the DATA folder of the game, "NO" will be deleted!! 2 - The entire contents of the folder DATA OF MOD, is copied onto the game DATA folder !!!!!!! 3 - Delete the file only "game.bin" if any!! |

Thats where my problem lies then.
When I copy and paste the data & cars folder across they create a duplicate sub folder in the originals and the drivers and engineers (people) don't get updated but everything else does.
When i try going into the folder and pasting the internal files instead of the whole file I get the full update but can't continue from the 1st screen.
It seems a straight forward patch but I can't seem to get it done |

Hi !!!! Try going one file at a time, and if there is already one of the same name, delete the first and paste the mod. |

Just tried that and it works untill I do the people file.
I'll probably use the patch and try to change the drivers myself (would I just need to do that in the people file?).Message edited at 07-09-2010 21:34 GMT by TurboT |
