Hamilton drove on the pole in China. Hamilton's pole time was 1m 36.303s. Hamilton was followed by Ferraris Kimi and Massa, 0.342s and 0.586s slower than Hamilton. The fourth was Alonso, 0.624s behind the Brit. The fifth was Kovalainen followed by Webber and Heidfeld. However, Webber will drop ten positions at the grid due to engine change.
